ideas on scrapbooking?
Well I was wondering if anyone has any good sites to buy scrapbooking supplies online, I wanna keep it as low of a budget as possible but the cheapest things are on ebay, and I dont want to mess with that. Or does anyone have any ideas for cheap scrapbooking? Like ideas to decorate pages without spending a lot??
Well, I try to keep costs down to a minimum by going to thrift stores and yard sales. The key here is you have to ask for sewing trim and/or supplies. Most women have lots of smaller pieces of trim, ribbon, yarn etc. stashed away that they probably will never use. By asking, it gets them to thinking about all that unused stuff that is just taking up room. If I find someone who mentions she has stuff, but needs to look for it etc. I do give them my phone number so they can call me when they find it. I get a lots of stuff this way.
Also you have to think out side the box, for example, flower arrangements. I buy them (only if they are really nice) and take them apart to use as decorations on my pages. The flowers/leaves have to lay flat so you have to keep this in mind. I stay away from anything plastic. Jewellery works well also as long as it is not too bulky. It takes some time to get the knack of doing this, but it is very rewarding because my pages for the most part are very unique. When I go to yard sales I look at just about everything always thinking about “will this work for my scrapbook?” Most people have pictures for sale, I look these over carefully to see if I can cut parts of them and use on my pages. I have bought interesting matchbook covers, perfume bottles just for the label, lapel pins that I take the backs off, greeting cards and sometimes the verse inside works well also, I could go on, but I think you have the idea.
