How do you scrapbook?
I am trying to figure out how I want to scrapbook my pictures so I was wondering how more experienced scrapbookers did it. 
So far I have a few pages done but my pictures vary in themes.
Is it better to put everything in one book chronologically or do you have multiple books (like one for pets, one for holidays, etc)?
Any ideas would be great! I was also wondering if any of you knew of good web sites to get ideas from as far as beginer layouts.
I started scrapbooking a little less than 5 year ago and have seen my style morph more than once.
Personally, my first scrapbook was done chronologically… it was a scrapbook of all the camping trips we had taken since I first met my husband, and I did the whole thing with photos and different colors of cardstock.
I got into scrapbooking because a friend of mine invited me to a Creative Memories crop, where I purchased a lot of tools (trimmers, punches, etc). After looking around at various websites, I found out that CM wasn’t exactly my style.
Their tools are top notch, but I like to add more artistic flair to my scrapbooking… adding things like chipboard and paint, experimenting with sewing and texture.
Now that I’ve been getting into it, I’ve developed a new obsession with minis (smaller books with a theme, or showcasing an event/vacation/etc.) and with creating layouts of all different sizes… from ATCs (2.5″x3.5″ – playing card size) to 12×12.
Martha Stewart’s scrapbooking line also has 18×18 which I might experiment with for framed pages. In my 8 1/2×11 and 12×12 albums, I usually view each layout as it’s own work of art and don’t make a theme or date order within the album.
I think what I’m trying to say is that there aren’t really any rules to it. Just scrap what you feel, and let it evolve. I do not have the same style as when I started, but I still love to go back and look at those first albums.
