What can I do when my fiance goes out at night?
My fiance works until midnight and likes to go out after work. I work during the day right now, and I get tired waiting up for him. I trust him when he’s out late; It’s just that I get lonely. We haven’t lived in this state too long, so I am having a hard time meeting people. Plus, with my job as a waitress it’s hard to join activities. I have been watching movies, scrapbooking, singing, and walking, but I don’t have a lot of money to go out and blow every night. Plus, I’m not 21 yet, so I can’t join him at the bar. What can I do at night when he’s gone without thinking about what time he’ll be coming home?
The phrase you used that caught my attention is “…don’t have a lot of money to go out and blow every night…”
Does he go out often? It seems to me that there’s a deeper question here, and it’s about your relationship. He might be oblivious to your needs, which could be because you’re not letting him know about them. Or, he might be aware of your needs and he’s just inconsiderate of them. Or, maybe he’s around more than it sounds like from your description, and that’s not an issue.
In any case, you should let him know that you miss him when he goes out, and that you’d like him to spend more time with you. I’m not suggesting that you should try and chain him down in some way, but like just about anything else, you make your feelings known and look for him to respond. If you’re going to make a life together, it’s time to start being open with each other about these things, and working together to solve them. Best approach is to talk to him about it when he’s NOT on his way out the door to go to the bar.
