Scrapbooking help!!!?
Very Overwhelmed with Scrapbooking.. any ideas?
I am very Overwhelmed with Scrapbooking..
I love the idea of scrapbooking! I have all the needed pieces to get started. I have TONS of pictures.. my only problem is.. where do I get ideas for my pages. I can see it in my mind.. but I know it could be better. I have many ideas in my head.. but i seem to have creative block.
There aren’t any classes offered in the town i live in.. does anyone have any advice? any websites that has helped them?
When I go to buy my supplies I get very overwhelmed and start to panic.. so i have to look at every supply indivually and it leads to me being there for hours.
It is daunting to get started scrapbooking without any help! There is help at hand though

When I made my very first page, I started out by choosing some photos with a similar theme (I picked pictures of what happened to our yard after a cyclone went through town) and looked at the main colours in those pictures. Then I chose some papers and embellishments to enhance the colours I wanted to be noticed the most. In this case, there was a large tree that had beautiful wood in it that was knocked over, so I chose those colours.
Another thing I always do is journal – let people know where the pics were taken, when the event happened, and who is in the photos. My page was about Cyclone Larry in 2006, so I put ‘Just Larried” on the page, with the date, and also hand wrote some comments of my own under some of the pictures. Oh I used four pictures that time on a 12″ x 12″ page, but you can use a lot more or only one. It’s up to you – how freeing is that!

The main thing is to make pages that please YOU! This is your album and your own life, people and events you are scrapping about, so go ahead and trust your own sense of what is right for your album It’s a lot more fun that way!
