There is a cropping night uptown in my town. What is cropping though? Its about scrapbooking and I want to see
if its something I would enjoy. What is cropping and how do you do it? Is it easy?
It’s a scrapbooking party/event. You “crop” your photos to get rid of the stuff you don’t want. If you’ve never scrapbooked anything in your life, let the organizer know this and she will help faciliate your evening. Scrapbooking is a fun hobby but it can be expensive and time consuming. Bring a few pairs of related photographs to the event (like a couple of ones from a birthday, a couple from a vacation). Plan on making just a few pages from them. These pages get put in an album (one of the larger expenses). Each page will have layered colored/printed papers that will highlight the photos on that page. There might be sticker letters for a title of the page. You usually leave some plain space for “journaling” where you write a little bit about what was taking place the day the picture was taken. You might spend most of your time just looking at stuff other people have done in order to get ideas for your own pages.
People go to these crops because it’s fun to socialize with others who have the same passion for scrapbooking that they do and it gives them a dedicated time they can set aside to work on their scrapbooks. At home, with kids, there is always something else that needs to be done or someone who needs attention but by going to a crop you block out the evening to just do something you enjoy.
