When scrapbooking, how do you preserve a newpaper article?
I want to save some newspaper articles. But, I don’t know if I should put the orginals in the scrapbook. Any suggestions?
You may want to try this product, or at least find out a bit more about it.
http://www.stampington.com/html/archival_mist.html I have not personally used it so can not comment from experience, but I know many scrappers do use it.
DO NOT laminate them. Over time the products used in the lamination process with cause the newspaper to deteriorate as they are not acid free, and also contain other harmful chemicals. Read this article if you want more information http://www.nmnh.si.edu/anthro/conservation/lamination/
The best idea – that I have also used – is to copy them onto acid free, lignin free white cardstock, as has already been suggested.
