Scrapbooking ?
I volunteer for big brothers, big sisters. My “little” wants to start a scrap book for our time together, sounds great. But where do I start? what is the best place to get supplies for a novice? Budget is kinda low right now. any good ideas?
TA-da! I’m a scrapbooker! I teach it and I do it for fun and for money. Your starting point will be the pictures you take, then circle around that. Because your pictures of what you do are the memories you’re trying to capture on the page. So say if you’re going to the park, you’ll take pics of things you do at the park and always just jot things down.. that helps a lot. But to answer your question honey, you have a few options:
1. Michaels or Hobby Lobby has a variety of scrapbooking stuff for every budget, and they have a lot of stuff on sale here and there.
2. Ebay
3. The dollar store carries a lot of stuff
*If you’re starting out I understand that you don’t want to spend a lot of money. here are the essentials of what you’ll need to start any scrapbook:
1. cardstock paper-durable weight and comes in many colors and prints, sizes are 12×12,8×11, and 8×8
2. An album that comes in the same sizes as well.
3.Glue sticks
4.photo mounting squares
5.paper trimmer
6.decorative scissors
7. acid free markers/pens
8. stickers/embellishments
9.Anything of relevance to your page
10. A BIG IMAGINATION!!!
*A lot of pictures, and a theme is a must too!!!
Like I said, the majority of that you can find at the dollar store. Cardstock paper depending on what size and print will range from .25 to 1.00. They also come in value packs. There’s also scrapbook packs that come with a theme that are ready to stick photos on or you can rearrange, or from scratch which is always better.
