Scrapbooking help please?
Hi guys!
Okay, I have 2 scrapbooks – one for myself, with family, friends, and my boyfriend in it. And the other for my boyfriend and I, with memories of us.
For the second, we need some help. We have been together for 3 years and want to put in things that we have done together. For example, not just pictures, but movie tickets, concert tickets, and things like that. I was wondering if you guys had any other ideas that we could use.
We go on small vacations often, usually for a day or weekend, so we have pictures of exciting things, but what kind of keepsakes do you put in your scrapbooks? Any help would be great! I have not completed my own scrapbook, and it was my first. So this project for my boyfriend and I is kind of new to both of us, but we are having so much fun.
Please give me any input! 
We will be going to Jamaica in a few months, and I love the idea of getting some sand! Thanks for everyone’s input so far – all great ideas!

Looking back at my scrapbooks, I have all kinds of things in them- newspaper clippings about events I went to (concerts, friends’ graduations, stuff like that); hangtags from my favorite clothes; programs from friends’ weddings.
I even put some confetti and a couple of popped balloons from a New Year’s party we went to in one of my old scrapbooks, but in hindsight, I wouldn’t recommend including things like balloons. At one point, I had to store my scrapbooks in the garage, and the balloons melted from the heat and got all gooey and gummy and made a huge mess. So be careful to use things that will keep well over time. It’s a good idea to use acid free papers and supplies when possible- some magnetic album pages will yellow over time. You rarely think about stuff like that at the time you are creating the album, but hopefully my mistakes can save you some future headaches.
In a couple of my scrapbooks, I’ve added pockets to hold things like letters and postcards. You could even print out emails if there are any that you really want to save and remember.
One really important thing to include in your scrapbooks is journaling! At the very least, include small journaling blocks with the date, place, and names of the people who were there. For example, when you go to Jamaica, write down the names of the beaches you go to so that you can label your photos correctly for the scrapbook. You’d be amazed at how much stuff you will forget over time. If you make an effort to write down the “Who, what, where”, your scrapbooks will be a lot more meaningful to you when you look back on them. In hindsight, I wish I had been more careful about doing this, and that I had started scrapbooking earlier than I did!
