Using a sewing machine for scrapbooking, any specific things?
I have a sewing machine and started a lot of scrapbooking. I have seen a bunch of stuff around with sewing machine patterns on the pages. I want to do that now, but i’m a little unsure about the needle and thread sizes and other stuff. Will paper damage the needle? Is there a certain kind a paper that I can use? I would appreciate any answers! If you don’t know, DON’T ANSWER! It is no good for me if you say “i don’t know”.
On one hand, you need to experiment a bit with your machine, of course. On the other hand, there are LOTS of tips out there. I’ve provided a link below. A few things I’ve learned – a bigger needle and a longer stitch will be better, as paper is more fragile than most fabric and this way, you’ll have fewer holes and stress the paper less. Don’t add anything with dimension until after you’ve stitched to avoid the foot from getting caught as you guide the paper.
