Need your help and advide for my small business?
I am doing a small business that I export a special Scrapbooking sticker to USA, however, I am just a beginer, I couldn’t find buyer or impoter, I thought that if I go Scrapbook convention show and introduce my products to the exhibitor, do you think is that working? or if there is any other advice? thanks.
Here are my suggestions:
1. Going to tradeshows will help, if only to learn what companies out there may be interested in your products. Be sure to get as many contacts as you can and give them your business cards.
2. The most effective use of tradeshows, however, is if you can make appointments BEFORE going to the convention. Often, the person who makes the decision may not be in the booth at the precise moment you are there. That will be lost opportunity. But if you make appointments before coming, and the person who makes decisions know you are coming, then that is a more fruitful way of using tradeshows.
3. Scan the Web and make a list of all scrapbook retailers online and offline. Get their contact numbers and email, and then contact them. Scrapjazz http://www.scrapjazz.com/links/ has a directory, and print magazines such as Simple Scrapbooking often include directories of stores and suppliers. Compiling your list will not be easy – but it is a work that you must do.
4. Advertise in scrapbooking websites and print publications. This will cost you, but it can get you to targeted audiences.
5. Consider building your own website. Your website can showcase the products you offer, and you can refer contacts to your site if they need more information about the products you carry. It can also be your marketing tool where people can discover you through your website.
