How do I adhere vellum quotes?
I am scrapbooking for the first time, and I got some vellum paper quotes. How would I adhere them as the paper is opaque and I imagine you can see typical glue.
Yes, this is quite the dilemma!
There are two you can do:
1) Use double sided vellum tape-this tape is made for use on vellum and you can barely see it, but it is visible
2) Make the entire back of the quotes sticky by running it through a Zyron machine. A Zyron creates stickers, so you just put your quote in the machine and when you pull it out, it has adhesive on the entire back. You won’t see any of the adhesive on the vellum because it’s a sticker now (it does work, used it for my brother’s wedding invitations). There are different types of Zyron machines and none use heat. The higher up in price, the more features it does-laminating, creating magnets, etc. The basic little one looks like an “X” and I think it can do 1.5-2″ of paper or something like that. P.S. You can also use eyelets or brads too. They are not adhesive and you need some tools to apply them. Eyelets are set with a “setter” that flattens the back. For brads, you open the two parts on the back to flatten it against the paper. Both can be sandwiched between a few layers of paper. You need a hole punch that can be put anywhere on the paper. A hammer and a special mat to put under. There is a kit that has all the tools in it except the mat. Making Memories has a kit but you can ask at the craft store, it’s a common thing.
